Cobalt is a hard, ferromagnetic metal whose main use is in the production of Li-ion batteries. Its anti-corrosive properties make cobalt an element of choice in the development of superalloys or hard alloys, to reinforce their resistance to corrosion. The industry also uses cobalt in the manufacture of permanent magnets where Samarium (Sm) and Cobalt bases are regularly used.
