Nickel
is a ductile and ferromagnetic metal reputed for its anti-corrosive and
antioxidant properties. It is widely used in the form of copper nickel in the
production of coins. Nickel is also used in the treatment of surfaces with
nickel plating: it provides a bright finish with excellent corrosion prevention
performance. The jewellery sector uses nickel with gold (Au) to
enhance the durability of jewellery and colour brilliance. While the metallurgy
industry uses nickel for the production of superalloys, where Cobalt (Co)
and Nickel bases are regularly used.
