Bismuth is a whitish/pink metal very similar to lead (Pb); it is reputed for its diamagnetic properties and low thermal conductivity. Bismuth is used in the preparation of low melting point alloys in the metallurgical and mechanical industry. In addition, its immunostimulant action and antalgic capacities make bismuth a valuable element in the manufacture of drugs.
- Manufacture of fusible alloys
