Mineral or organic, acid is a chemical substance that
can lose a proton in water, and comes in two forms: strong acid and weak acid.
Their difference lies in their reaction to water: a strong acid reacts
completely with water, while a weak acid causes a homogeneous
equilibrium. Acid solutions can dissolve many materials. Acids are mainly used
in the industrial field.
Some strong
acids : -
Hydrohalic acid -
Nitric acid -
Sulfuric acid -
Perchloric acid -
Permanganic acid -
Hydrobromic acid -
Chloric acid
-
Hydrochloric acid
Strong acids are generally used
for acid-base solutions and hydrolysis. | Some weak
acids : -
Carboxylic acid -
Hydrofluoric acid -
Formic acid -
Acetic acid -
Hypochlorous acid -
Boric acid -
Sulfurous acid
-
Hydrocyanic acid
Weak acids can be used in the
manufacture of chemicals. |
