Practically insoluble in water, zinc selenite with the formula ZnSeO3 is a whitish solid. It can be obtained by reacting Sodium Selenite with solutions of zinc sulfate or zinc oxide with solutions of selenic acid. The Swedish chemist Jons Jacob Berzelius was the first chemist to introduce zinc selenite.
